Vendell Veizen 

A homebrew-sized version of Full Sail's Brewer's Share Vendell Veizen.

Thanks to Wendell Bryant and brew staff at Full Sail (especially John Harris, Brewmaster Riverplace; Jim Kelter, Brewmaster Hood River/Quality Assurance; James Emmerson, Executive Brewmaster) for sharing it with us.

The recipe, as transcribed for us by Wendell:

Vendell Veizen

5 gallons, All-grain:

  • 6.25 lbs Pale malt
  • 6.25 lbs Wheat malt
  • 8 oz Munich 10
  • 8 oz Munich 45
  • 2 oz Chocolate malt
  • 1 oz. Saaz
  • 0.5 oz. Mt. Hood

OG 1.068  (17 Plato)

FG 1.017  (4.3 Plato)

Ale yeast

60F Ferm.

Treat it like a lager

 

For extract use:

  • 5.5 lbs Pale extract
  • 5.5 lbs Wheat extract

Use the same amount of specialty grains as above.
