My original "craft" beer introduction was likely Anchor Steam or Sam Adams. Both were present in the Ames/Des Moines markets in the 80s when I was at Iowa State. My fight against factory swill has never died since.
Summit EPA is my go to in the far West Metro as it is found on tap in most places where you would otherwise only find Budmillcoors. My opinion of Summit improved with Horizon Red - I love this beer and is the only beer I buy in 12 packs. Props to Mark and the rest at Summit! Also, please send more Horizon Red to the Western Suburbs restaurants! lol...
