I love session beers, the kind I can drink literally for 4, 5, 6, 7 hours at a time and be able to drive, and Bitter Brewer gives me that!
-guy at surly brewing co.
please never do the cobra thing again, and brew more!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bravo Cobra! Jake, I must admit I was a little disappointed that you weren't sporting the Cobra when we were in MN for Thanksgiving. I really wanted to see the Cobra in all its magesty in person.
Even with it's 10,000 lakes, Boundary Waters Canoe Area, and loons; I still consider Surly Brew Co. Minnesota's most precious natural resource.
Nice work. This is the definitive history of Surly video. I saw Scott talking about Bitter Brewer. :) It looks like a crap load of editing, including putting all those stills in. You covered a lot of ground and that pretty much sums it up! :)
The Cobra should be pictured on Ronnie James Dio's headstone...
Love the Cobra, and Surly. It must be great beer for me to drink it even with Omar's much professed hatred of everything Wisconsin.
Lose the cobra filler. This video was way too long. Mustaches are no longer ironic or funny.
Cobra = lame waste of time.
Your heads are getting too big, you need to go back to the format of the earlier shows.
You don't need "cute and silly" to be entertaining.
p.s. Two huge thumbs up to the Metal, the acoustic guitar was getting pretty repetitive and bland.
Great video about a fantastic company. Being a huge Surly fan, it was a pleasure to watch this. Nice work.
OMAR GOT FAT! Good god, get that man of Atkins.
That's more like it!
Love or hate Surly, love or hate Metal - doesnt matter! It's great to see you guys embrace your passions, after all that's what craft beer is all about...isn't it?!? Fuck off to the mainsteam douches that want you to explain everything and brew more.
Big ups on Ep25 :)
Thanks for the support (The Cobra smiles) and thanks for the criticism (The Cobra weeps). Either way, we're just happy viewers care enough to tell us what they think! We know not every episode, idea, and/or subject will appeal to everyone. Homebrewing and Craft Beer are appealing to everyone; all personalities, cultures, backgrounds etc etc.
We're just three dudes doing what we like, and we do make an effort to find something for everyone. In fact (and this was planned far in advance) the next episode will be a heavy feature on brewing big beers, parti-gyle, and aging...a straight up brew day with Dawson. So lets not get our collective knickers in bunch!
all for brew, brew for all
Jake
Keep up the good work. You are much better than Sam and a little entertainment goes a long way...I prefer your show any day.
Cheers!
Too many commenters are whiny bitches.... Waaaaa I don't like the cobra... Waaaaa the video is too long. These are great videos and a mix of instruction and entertainment is fine. Sure I don't want to go on a roadtrip with the the cobra character but it was funny. If you didn't think so, well it's free so stop complaining.
Hey now! No need for disagreements to be uncivil just cause they're on the Internets. Don't make me stop this car! Because I will.
If you dug the Cobra, awesome. If you did not dig the Cobra, that's awesome too ... we started shooting Episode 26 today and it is going to feature a big brew session for a big beer, so hang in there.
The video was great, loved the 30 second brewery tour. The shots of the canning machines were way cool too.
But the "cobra" was laughable and not in a good way.
I can grow a mustache like that by 5 o'clock.
Wait until you go through puberty before you brag about your wimpy mustache. Or was that from the chocolate milk you had with your school lunch?
Great video as always. These comments are ridiculous! Yes, not the biggest Cobra fan, but that's the intention! Great to meet you, Jake, at GABF. I misplaced the glass you gave me, but it was charished for the two hours I had it in my possesion. You guys need to come over to Colorado sometime. I'll show you around the local beer scenes, and we can brew! Keep the episodes coming!
Entertaining, interesting, enjoyable. Not your usual thing, but fun. Don't make brewery visits a habit, but it was nice to feel the good vibe of their success.
wheres a mongoose when you need one?
I gotta get some Surly. I've had all these great beers out in NC...I think a pilgrimage to MN is a must.
