Features:
- The one, the only... Fred Eckhardt
Whether you're a homebrewer or simply a lover of great beer in America -- we all owe a huge debt of gratitude to Fred Eckhardt. Brewing TV was lucky enough to chat with Fred over a few pints. This is what he had to say about the past, present and future of good beer.

hey who said you could not brew in an episode?!?!?!?!?!?!
Makes me believe that getting old might not suck :)
Not as much, anyway.
Kampai! Much thanks for Mr. Eckhardt for bringing homebrewer's Sake as well as beer!
Excellent episode, thanks a lot to Mr Eckhardt and brewing tv.
You guys must have been busy in Portland!
Priceless guy's. This episode will long be a source of remembrance of Fred and his pioneering work that brought us such an enjoyable hobby.
Michael and Jake. For one, you guys have the best job next to Jim Koch. This episode is a rich, effervescent, that will only get better with time. Fred is the man. Between Charlie and Fred, I would not be brewing the beer I do today. When I leave the Navy in a few short years, I seriously want to take my passion for brewing to the next level. I think this is you best episode to date. Now off the Brew my Double Winter IIPA. Thanks and Brew for One, Brew for all.
Great episode. Makes you wonder where homebrewing would be without people like Mr. Eckhardt. By the way, I'm loving what BrewingTV is doing. Keep up the good work guys!
Anyone know what book he was referencing at 7:05, published 1934 in canada by ?Noad?
Nice to see the "Tetley's" sign behind the boys.
Like hangin' w/ my grandfather, can you imagine spending quality time with this gentleman and Mr. Papazian at the same table quaffin your own brew and talkin smack!? A homebrew dream come true. Thanks brewing TV, for bringing me a little closer. Keep up the good work, thanks.
Great way to capture the essence of craft beer and homebrewing.... This video locked up on me as soon as Fred was about to say something bad about budwieser.... Must be a conspiracy!
Very much enjoyed the interview with Fred.
So wonderfull to listen to an actual icon of the craft brewing movement. The first hand accounts from Mr. Eckhardt were facinateing, as well as his opinions on the futures of the Mega brewers. Once i discovered GOOD beer and then began brewing my own, the monolithic In-Bev company lost me as a "consumer" for ever.
Keep the BTV episodes coming!!!
What great interviews, especially at the end where Fred struggled with what to do with the remnants of his old beer...exactly what I would have done! Fred Eckhardt, Charlie Papazian, and although a huge influence on how I brew, he is seldom mentioned in the industry, James F. Willenbecher - these men are the foundations of my leap into the world of home brewing some 15 years ago. Brewing TV - I really enjoyed this!
what did fred mix with the daily bread? I live within 2 hours of everybody's awsome beer and good food.
Great job Dawz. Brewing TV has become the best online source for everything homebrew.
That was a great episode gang! Very well preped and edited. You guys are hitting your stride.
